As many of you know, I'm into cool gadgets and spend way too much money on them. I always get comments on my tablet PC and I love using it to capture notes, markup drawings, browse the internet, etc. But, I've always thought something cheaper, lighter, and simpler would be perfect for my needs. I've wanted a dedicated device for note taking, browsing the internet, and remote access to my PC/mac. The device Mark Arrington is working on seems to fit my needs perfectly. The reason I post it here? It is an open design...anyone could take it and run with it. An entrepreneur here with a passion for these devices could take the design, add their USP, and go to market!

Such a device would be very nice to have, and it would be a fun project to work on, but unless you are Steve Jobs(maybe), it is very hard to make money on a consumer product like that. The $ is on services and add-ons, but nobody wants to buy a closed system (again, Steve Jobs is only exception).
