Who are you? (family, school, work, hobbies, interests, dreams)

From everyone who has been given much, much will be required. It was my pleasure to serve on the EOK Board of Directors for a number of years. I love the heart of EOK - members helping members to build their skills as an entrepreneur.

My passion, both personally and professionally, is to use my experience to benefit others. In addition to my service for EOK I work with small business owners to develop and implement achievable and effective marketing strategies.

I am a marketing and project management professional with over 22 years of experience in online and traditional marketing; business strategy; ecommerce strategy; software project management and conference/event planning.

In 2000 I finished my MBA while I was a single mom and working full time. I also have a BA in Organizational Communication from the University of New Mexico.

Personally, I work with women who are looking to strengthen their walk with God and break the chains of destructive life patterns. I serve in my church (Faith Promise Church) in as a coach to small group leaders and oversee a multi-campus class for new believers.

In both our personal and professional live I am certain each of us has at least one thing that holds us back from reaching the “next level”.  That next level is different for each of us.

In working with and talking to many small business owners and entrepreneurs I see the same obstacles repeatedly.  This is a great exercise for me to look at my own business and think critically about what is holding me back from my next level.

Recurring obstacles I…

Communication is essential in Project Management

If projects are not managed well, clients and employees alike may not be happy or productive.

A key element to solid project management is communication.  Goals and expectations must be clearly communicated.  If the information people need to be effective in their roles is not…

Did I Say That?

I read several articles and blog posts today about the marketing firm employee who Tweeted on behalf of Chrysler.  I won’t rehash the entire story (you can read it here).
