I recorded the "old fashion" way, sony camcorder on a tripod. You should have seen it when I tried to hold the cam in my hands. :)

What did you use to record? If you use JING (http://www.jingproject.com/), you can switch from screen capture to camera which would allow you to do some fancy video switching.

I have used Arduino hardware on a project and it works really well. The Atmel processor has enough features to do most small projects. It is much less expensive than development boards from leading chip vendors (TI, Microchip, Atmel, etc.)
