I recently purchased a warehouse and in reviewing the KUB bill I was surprised at the charges. I'm being charged $122.00 per month for "Private Fire Protection"; which, according to KUB guarantees water will be available to my building in the event of a fire. Wow! I want to be in this business of charging for the potential to use WATER.

I'm also being billed for a sign that's not on my property. The rep's response was "well it's always been billed that way". I had to repeatedly ask for this to be verified.

Anyone have experience with this? Any way around paying the $122.00 per month?

Update from KUB...I don't have to pay for the sign that isn't on my property. Apparently the meter for the sign was erroneously billed to me the last 11 months and to the previous owner before. They will credit the costs back on my next statement.
