I've been looking for an alternative to Quickbooks for...well...ever since I first bought Quickbooks seven years ago. Don't get me wrong; I'm not a Quickbooks hater like some but I do want a simple, straight forward, multi-user, online, collaborative solution. Not asking for much am I?
Anyway, I found this great site,
lessaccounting.com via some suggestion on twitter. I've setup a couple of my…

I was looking around today for a way to buy someone a drink at Starbucks and have an e-card with a link sent to their email. They could print the coupon, take it to Starbucks and get a drink. Oddly Starbucks doesn't offer this service. I think this would be big seller for corp, friends, family, excellent for birthdays, etc.
I mocked up a version above. I also thought it would work well as an incentive to complete a survey, reward to…

For most of my projects I need to work with a geographically challenged team. On my most recent project I have team members in Corbin, KY; Atlanta, GA; Knoxville, TN; and Seattle, WA. In order to stay on the same page, I use a gamut of technologies. Here is a short list with a quick description.

I've tried several conference call systems; many for pay and none have been as high quality or as easy to use as skype. It's very easy to setup a…

I just read a cool article in Inc. Magazine about two business college dropouts who are changing the way we'll do business on the web. The company is
Threadles T-Shirts and they...you guessed it...sell T-Shirts but with a twist. The products are completely customer created and the designs are voted and selected by the consumer. The customer designs, selects,…

I have used obopay successfully several times to send money to friends and neighbors. If everyone signs up for an account, we could easily send money to one another for services, lunches, donations, etc. It's easy, fast, and FREE to signup. As a bonus I'll send the first 30 new members a crisp new $1.00 using obopay. Check it out and see what you…

I usually dislike anyone forwarding warnings about scams but I just received this one and it was very convincing. Here is the truth about the link; please just delete any message that has this look...don't click on any links.

Today was a good day; I had a great meeting this morning with several area entrepreneurs. We are planning to meet on a regular basis to share, learn, and fellowship. We setup a google group and this network on ning. The smaller groups will be more intimate and meet face-to-face; this public network will allow all of K'Town's entrepreneurs to meet, work, and share online.
