Stay updated with RSS

Real Simple Syndication (RSS) is a great way to stay up to date on your items of interest without visiting page after page every day. When you "subscribe" to an RSS feed, you are telling your computer to go get the latest data periodically for you and download it to your local reader. Your reader depends on the platform your working on...Mac, Windows, Linux, etc.

On a Mac, it is very easy to subscribe to an RSS feed. Here is a great video from Apple explaining how to use… Continue

Great new coffee shop!

Blackbird coffee is open for business. Craig and Ali Johnson offer a great cup of coffee, pastries, music, and a warm inviting place to sit. If you have the chance, please stop in for a visit and your favorite coffee drink. Here is a link to a good article about the new shop.

And here is another article from our favorite writer Carly… Continue

Looking for a new Headset?

I've tried the new Plantronics 925 and the new Jawbone II and hands down the Jawbone II is the best headset. It really works to eliminate all background noise. I made a call from my living room yesterday while my two older boys and two of their friends were playing Halo… Continue

Make Money with Overlay.tv

This is a cool idea I heard about on the Net@Nite podcast. Leo and Amber did an interview with the founders of this new business. Basically you can take any video (youtube, your own, google, etc.) and add overlay/product placement advertising to it. You make money if anyone watching the video clicks on the links you embed. It's… Continue

Online (Affordable) Accounting Software

I've been looking for an alternative to Quickbooks for...well...ever since I first bought Quickbooks seven years ago. Don't get me wrong; I'm not a Quickbooks hater like some but I do want a simple, straight forward, multi-user, online, collaborative solution. Not asking for much am I?

Anyway, I found this great site, lessaccounting.com via some suggestion on twitter. I've setup a couple of my… Continue

Starbucks e-drink

I was looking around today for a way to buy someone a drink at Starbucks and have an e-card with a link sent to their email. They could print the coupon, take it to Starbucks and get a drink. Oddly Starbucks doesn't offer this service. I think this would be big seller for corp, friends, family, excellent for birthdays, etc.

I mocked up a version above. I also thought it would work well as an incentive to complete a survey, reward to… Continue
