I have been an entrepreneur since 1995, when I started selling t-shirts to my lifeguard co-workers at Walt Disney World. Although the deals have gotten substantially bigger over the years, I still enjoy working with small business start-ups.
Recently, I decided to pursue an MBA at the University of Tennessee, in order to gain more experience and knowledge in developing and operating complex, higher dollar ventures with a global vision. I will finish my MBA in December 2009.
In addition to school, I am currently working on the Knoxville Overground project. Our primary purpose is to create a community where entrepreneurs and business leaders can learn, collaborate, and network. Our vision is that Knoxville Overground will be the hub of E. Tennessee's various business networks and will be the first stop of entrepreneurs and investors who are curious about the area's business climate.
Knoxville Overgound's flagship project is to develop a community space in downtown Knoxville to serve East Tennessee's entrepreneurs. Among our many services are: lecture's by local and national business leaders (either in-person or via Skype video), a co-working space, and a comprehensive wiki covering all things entrepreneurial.
