- I am a YOGA and WELLNESS expert and CHILDREN'S YOGA SPECIALIST at The Glowing Body Yoga Studio downtown. I also have a private practice in Sunnia Healing Energy Techniques. I am a professional singer, performance artist and community activist and designer. I work with many different populations from commerce to corporate, from kids to community. My work spans all ages and stages of life. The yoga style I teach is Kundalini Yoga and Meditation. The children's yoga is called Dancing Spider Yoga. I've also written a book by the same name which is visiting local libraries in 2010-2011 school year.

I live the yoga life. I love seeing people getting inspired about their lives. I am genuinely interested in what folks do and find the scope of creativity absolutely amazing. I'm someone who loves collaboration. I like meeting up with video artists and then hiring them to do some editing on my yoga dvd. I like meeting musicians who contact me through my yoga and getting together to sing and put on house concerts. I love working with engineers whose brains are sometimes fantastic and more complicated than I can imagine--and having them work on my website for hours--I love designers who can take ideas I have in the fourth and fifth dimensions and put it down on paper--wow--
And, for the physical, fun side of life, when I can I go and ride a horse, and ice skate in the winter at the ice chalet. I go visit waterfalls and swim and tube at the Y in the Smokies. I'm a person that could sit at the ocean for hours and read a book while taking a break to look out onto the sea. I'm someone who really, really wants to hook up a job in New Zealand, Italy and Thailand becuz I very much want to visit and stay in those countries for a while and teach yoga. Do I go along with my son...or go solo???? He's home-schooled and if you know me, you know my very creative very unique teenager. Since I'm on my own with him and travel a lot, he comes to a lot of my workshops and community events. He rocks!
I am mostly very connected and in love with all people. I love to attend live music events, especially drum and world music bands; I love indie-folk musicians. I love to sing and chant sacred sanskrit beats and meditation, yet, I also love musical theatre and have been known to 'belt out a ballad' on occasion. Who could not be in love with bob marley and the wailers, and still I love joni mitchell from the old new jersey days!
Lastly, I am often on Friday nights found out or in my lr with my electronically minded son --Fridays are movie night-- seeing really silly animation flicks and techno kids stuff. 3-D rocks!
so....a little about me is a little about you...i'm a creative teacher most of all and seeing folks incredible filled with joy, laughter and beautiful smiles through the practice of yoga, chanting and meditation, just makes it all so good....
Life is a dance....take off your shoes....and play!

SUMMER SOLSTICE A SUCCESS. NOW IT'S TIME TO GROW AND GLOW!
The Yoga Association of Knoxville's 'summer solstice celebration' 09 was a great success. Over 50 people attended lots of different kinds of classes from power yoga to a solstice kundalini success weekend. We had 4 different studios involved offering a variety of different classes--from beginner's to advanced meditation--yoga is for everyBODY. What was really beautiful was to see the participation from all kinds of people within this growing community. What I realize the more I teach is that there is an aspect of yoga and meditation that is useful for everyone, no matter what walk of life you come from, what religion you practice, what body type you are, how much you ate for breakfast or what kind of job you do. Breathing, the most fundamental practice in yoga, is the key to extending the greatest experience of bliss and joy in your life and one of the greatest exercises you can do.
The other good news for me is that this week I'll start teaching 3 new classes at Glowing Body. This high energy food bar is also a great lunch/dinner stop and because of it's convenient downtown location, is a meeting place for friends and family. It's very kid-friendly which I like very much.
I'm also working a lot on social media this week and just completed the editing on my newest video, Unwind with Kundalini Yoga. All I can say is 'keep up'. During the most depressing times this winter, I just kept the good affirmations going, kept getting out into the world, kept meeting with friends and kept busy! Sleeping was a no no! What has happened since I planted those seeds in winter and spring, is summer is blooming with business!
I do hope to see you all soon at class.
