EOK Foodies

In search of international and local cuisine right here in Knoxville, the EOK Foodies group will seek out AND find tastiness in all forms! We rely on suggestions from members as to where to go and bravery on the part of the rest to try it out!

I heard there was a new Indian restaurant near Cherokee Mills. Anyone know where that might be?

I'm cool with making sure that we always have lunches and pub nights covered but would welcome any help from the group. It's easy to post an event but I'd be happy to show anyone that wants to learn how. Keep up the good work adding places to go :)

Met a client at We're Cooking the other day. I have now had both breakfast and lunch there. The food is good, simple but very good.  I encourage everyone to try it for themselves. AND it's locally owned.  The owner greets his customers as they walk in by saying "Welcome Home!"  Located next to Penn Station and Panera Bread, it's worth checking out.

I've created a meetup group for our foodies.  this should act as another channel for EOK and help with RSVPs also. http://www.meetup.com/EOKFoodies/

I've heard there is an awesome Cuban place out toward Alcoa.  I haven't been yet but would join a group to try it out!

We, the BOD, would love for the Foodies group to take over the selection and posting of the venues for our lunches and pub nights.  It's really easy...all you have to do is pick a place, post an event (one of the admins will approve the event), invite everyone, and enjoy!

We'll all help with marketing to make sure people come to the events.  Also, feel free to schedule breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktail hours, etc.  All the social dining/drinking is in your very capable hands.

We would like a couple of volunteers to step up as leaders.  Just post a comment saying you're cool with making sure we always have a lunch venue, pub night venue, and are OK with herding all these foodies cats.

I grew up on the coast and dives are the best places to eat.  My favorite local dive is King Tut's.  Greek and Egyptian food made by Mo's wife and soft drinks served in flower vases.  Mo is the friendliest host in town complete with magic tricks, jokes and karaoke to boot. When you walk in, you have stepped back in time.  BYOB and cash only. Bring a camera to record the fun for posterity.
