Members Helping Members - Working, Sharing, Contributing

This year Donald Trump was on Larry King and was asked now that real estate had peaked in terms of wealth creation, where would the next wave of millionaires be created. He replied that it would undoubtably come from Network Marketing. He was so sure of this that he started his own network marketing company.

That being the case, and knowing that network marketing is alive and well in Knoxville ( having been approached by four such companies in the past year) suggest that those of us involved begin to share what we have encountered as successful and unsuccessful approaches to building our network marketing companies.

In my experience, people looking at these businesses have three basic concerns;

  1. Can I do it?
  2. Does it work?
  3. Will you help me?

Since the foundation of these businesses is networking, in my opinion, the product or service is secondary.  So what have been other's experiences in developing an organization that meets the challenge of those three concerns?

As one who has been and is currently an Independent Business Owner with the Amway Corporation, I agree with a lot you said. I would add that in talking to "prospects" I want to know if they are in the looking zone, are or will become teachable, and are motivated. If they meet these tests, we can maybe do something. I disagree that that product and service are secondary. Poor product or poor service/relationships/help can kill any business. Then, the more I can help them succeed, the more I can succeed. While technology has changed how we build our business, these basic premises have not changed. Ken Morrow
Thanks Ken. You are certainly correct in stating that anyone who we are looking at bringing into our business needs to be teachable. Some of the people in my experience who are most difficult to train are those with an extensive background in sales. Why? Because they have been taught to be persuasive. They end up persuading others to work the business and thereby create a team member who has to be continually motivated to perform. It is much easier to simply present the business and if the new person sees the advantages, without being "sold", then they are fully invested. We agree on product and service,I was actually trying to make the point that a supportive relationship with others on their team should take priority. Appreciate your thoughts....Ray
